Shadow of Mystery

Long ago, a shadow covered the land
Causing many things to remain a mystery
Keeping us unsure of our relation to God
Certainly, we knew that He watched over the land.
We never saw him adding to the mystery.
Living lives in unexplainable fear of God.

A day came when the veil, the shadow, lifted.
We witnessed the power, the glory that could transform
Even the vilest offender into a child of God.
A process began by an unseen Spirit, each life sifted
Until all that remained in this frail human form
Was the likeness of an eternal child of God.

As human history has proven again
We take what looks like weakness, push it to the side
Until there is no life of peace or knowledge of God.
Losing our way, a shadow covers us again,
Forgetting on whose land we reside.
Without remorse, many have forgotten God.

Despite the chaos how do we restore peace?
Bring back life, drive the shadow away,
Send our world to its knees before the living God.
Confess, repent through the Prince of Peace.
Give him the burden, he will drive the darkness away.
Begin to live in the Light of the true God.

What AM I To Do?

What am I to do?
Lately you seem so far away.
Life swirls around me
Lost on a sea of emptiness
What am I to do?
Will it always be this way?
Wandering forever, is this me?
Watching hopelessly in the land of emptiness
What am I to do?
How do I get back, find my way?
Help me. May your grace free me.
Heal my spirit, fill the emptiness.
What am I to do?
Overcome by fear, stay on God's way,
Towards it I walk, give me eyes to see.
Together, Lord, we walk out of this emptiness.
What am I to do?
Overcome my fear, stay on God's way,
Often thanking Him for the grace that saved me,
Overthrowing with praise any lingering emptiness
What am I to do?
Praise God along the way
Put Him first instead of me
Please Him, there will be no more emptiness.

What Am I Without You?

What am I without you, O Lord?
Nothing, nothing, indeed!
You have made me for this very time.
Only as a vapor dispatched by the wind
Your choice for me was this time.
I am a wisp of smoke consumed by the wind.

Where would I be without you, O Lord?
Lost, lost without hope!
You pursued me until the appointed time.
All I had to do was turn to find
You had been there all the time.
You Lord, you were all I needed to find.

Who would I be without you, O Lord?
No one, no one at all!
Your design for me is for now, this time.
My soul seems as light as the wind.
This is your plan for this day and time.
My spirit carried by your wind.

When will you come and rescue me, O Lord?
Come now, come quickly!
You have set me at this place, this time.
In this place, I live by your holy wind.
Your will shall find its course, its time.
This is your moment come riding on the wind.
