In my weakness, I reach out for you.
Yearning to know your will in my life
Sometimes desperate, wondering if I will ever know.
Dreams wax and wane, leaving me without hope.
Much of my life lived in fear,
Causing my soul to be desert dry, yet I stand.
None of it seems possible any more
Where am I, heart grown cold?
As a watchman at the gate, I search for you,
Waiting for the signal that will save my life.
Faithfully I stand in my place, soon I will know
If there is any plan, holding on with only hope
Darkness tries to cover my eyes, playing on my fear.
Here I will continue to stand
Until the day that the sun rises no more
Standing steadfast, may my soul be bold.
It seems I am always searching for you.
On the edge of discovery of the call on my life
Looking over the line, straining to know
Faintly seeing what lies ahead, my hope.
But never stepping out, ever wrapped in fear,
I cannot cross to the other side, so I stand
Wanting to be where life is forever more
Sustained, never ending, to the end, bold.
All creation depends solely on you,
Sustaining, empowering, caring about each life.
To us, as humans, we have the gift, the ability to know
That by your closeness we are filled with hope.
This presence drives away our fear.
Before you it can never stand.
Give us hearts that yearn for more
So that as we stand watch, we may be forever bold.

What do you Value?
What is life that we value?
Hold it close as it passes by
So overwhelmed by its circumstance
Attempting to live right only to fail.
Living as if there is no value,
From despair’s depths we cry,
Where is my hope, my chance?
Can anyone help? I am so frail.
So little time, so futile,
As we attempt to leave our mark.
Not to be forgotten as time ends
When nothings left but dust.
Our struggles against the wind, so futile,
We race to stay out of the dark.
To find out only when the race ends
We have forgotten whom we trust.
No time to wait, life presses on
The length such a short span
Its quality determined in how we choose,
Not the circumstance we live.
Look around, see the course you are on.
Despite the brevity of the span
Renew your life, a Savior choose
Then you can truly live.
In Him, you will find true value.
Reach out as He passes by.
Whatever your circumstance
He will never fail.
We are of such infinite value
He will always answer our cry.
With him, we can take a stance
We are never feeble nor frail.

What is Life?
What is life, what is it we cherish
To live every day like it may be our last?
While most live as if when they perish
There is nothing left, the die is cast.
No man can live life to its fullest
Simply by ignoring what God has done!
Why not live every day to its truest,
Let God in your heart, see what must be done.
So much fear lives in giving up
What we think controls our lives.
So much wasted time trying to live up
To the things, the world calls our lives.
Where are we in the grand scheme?
Do we just leave life to run its course?
Doomed to live according to some cosmic scheme
That provides little chance to change our course.
Take away the chains that rule your heart.
Lay them down. Let Jesus bear
The burden of their pain, change your heart.
Trust Him. He is always there.

Keeping the Law
To keep God's law, an impossible task,
He calls to righteousness like his own.
Ill equipped to perform such a task,
How can we prove we are his own?
Overcome by such a thought,
Motionless, like stone we stand
As if dead, void of thought,
Destined to remain where we stand.
Darkness surrounds us as perpetual night
Any hope we had, has long since gone.
Our hearts seem cold like a winter night
Any warmth in our soul, completely gone.
Yearning for help with how to live
Searching every corner of the world
Finding only our inability to live
By any standard of rightness in the world.
What has been lost seems we cannot find.
Eludes us as we walk thru life.
Longing for that elusive peace of mind
Can it ever be found in this life?
Is this where you stand,
The cloud you live under,
Life so dark you can barely see your hand?
Come see a new sign to live under!
A place where darkness is overcome by light.
Transformation takes place in your heart.
This light drives away the perpetual night.
Stand with me and renew your heart.
Beneath the cross
Power to change from sacrifice
This place, this lonely cross
Our savior died eternal sacrifice.
Here God defined glory
His son gave his life for all.
Joining the Father in eternal glory
So that we could be rescued from the fall.

My Life by Theirs
Many cause my appearance to pale
It fades into the shadows of evening.
My life by theirs seems stale.
All see God as we head to evening.
Their life burns brightly before us
Leaving an unforgettable image
We cannot remove from our sight.
It drives us to our knees to shame us.
Indelible, a lasting image
Burns in our hearts through the lonely night.
Folding to our knees, He stands before us.
The day seared forever, a lasting image.
He carries us through the long fight.
All children of dust
Holding out His hand, giving life
His arms around us, tears melting the dust
We give Him forever, all we have, this life.
