The glory and the light rained down,
Came to Earth in form unseen.
They were before time had light.
By their presence brought life.
From the heavens they came down.
Now in creation eternally seen,
All around them was light.
Their plan was to give life.
Glory sits on the throne on high,
Resides in the heaven of the heavens.
There surrounded by the saints.
His life sustains us.
Oh, how near are the courts on high.
A single word brings us to the heavens.
By that word, we join the saints.
Glory reaches out, sustains us.
Light brings life to all who seek.
Those who follow Him, He calls by name.
This light came to drive the darkness away,
Placed in our heart His very presence.
Illumines my soul; You are the one I seek.
Yearning to hear you call my name.
I trust you to carry me along the way.
As I live this life in your presence.
By their breath, we became alive,
It gave us power for obedience.
Descending upon us as a wind,
We walk now, fueled for the work ahead.
Not by some cosmic accident made alive.
They left behind a choice for eternal obedience.
Reminding us every time we feel the wind
Of our future, as we persevere, forge ahead.
Jesus came as the Light of the world,
Coming down to us, a lowly child.
No prelude, no invitation
For his arrival that cold winter’s morn,
Early as the sun began to light the world
News of His birth spread, the Holy Child.
With Him came freedom, our salvation,
Healing, comforting all who mourn.
The Breath came, instilled new life.
No longer do I walk without a guide.
My life gone, only His is left.
So alive, so truly human
To the end, will I live this new life?
Not content just to let it hide.
Let me walk this path as long as life is left.
May I live as one who is truly human?
Come quickly, O God, in your glory.
Again, bring your Son, the Bearer of Light.
As you speak, your breath empowers.
May your children live a true life?
The heavens arrayed by your glory
As the sky above shines forth your light,
You breathe, your word empowers
Free us to live the second life.

In My Weakness
In my weakness, I reach out for you.
Yearning to know your will in my life
Sometimes desperate, wondering if I will ever know.
Dreams wax and wane, leaving me without hope.
Much of my life lived in fear,
Causing my soul to be desert dry, yet I stand.
None of it seems possible any more
Where am I, heart grown cold?
As a watchman at the gate, I search for you,
Waiting for the signal that will save my life.
Faithfully I stand in my place, soon I will know
If there is any plan, holding on with only hope
Darkness tries to cover my eyes, playing on my fear.
Here I will continue to stand
Until the day that the sun rises no more
Standing steadfast, may my soul be bold.
It seems I am always searching for you.
On the edge of discovery of the call on my life
Looking over the line, straining to know
Faintly seeing what lies ahead, my hope.
But never stepping out, ever wrapped in fear,
I cannot cross to the other side, so I stand
Wanting to be where life is forever more
Sustained, never ending, to the end, bold.
All creation depends solely on you,
Sustaining, empowering, caring about each life.
To us, as humans, we have the gift, the ability to know
That by your closeness we are filled with hope.
This presence drives away our fear.
Before you it can never stand.
Give us hearts that yearn for more
So that as we stand watch, we may be forever bold.

What do you Value?
What is life that we value?
Hold it close as it passes by
So overwhelmed by its circumstance
Attempting to live right only to fail.
Living as if there is no value,
From despair’s depths we cry,
Where is my hope, my chance?
Can anyone help? I am so frail.
So little time, so futile,
As we attempt to leave our mark.
Not to be forgotten as time ends
When nothings left but dust.
Our struggles against the wind, so futile,
We race to stay out of the dark.
To find out only when the race ends
We have forgotten whom we trust.
No time to wait, life presses on
The length such a short span
Its quality determined in how we choose,
Not the circumstance we live.
Look around, see the course you are on.
Despite the brevity of the span
Renew your life, a Savior choose
Then you can truly live.
In Him, you will find true value.
Reach out as He passes by.
Whatever your circumstance
He will never fail.
We are of such infinite value
He will always answer our cry.
With him, we can take a stance
We are never feeble nor frail.

What is Life?
What is life, what is it we cherish
To live every day like it may be our last?
While most live as if when they perish
There is nothing left, the die is cast.
No man can live life to its fullest
Simply by ignoring what God has done!
Why not live every day to its truest,
Let God in your heart, see what must be done.
So much fear lives in giving up
What we think controls our lives.
So much wasted time trying to live up
To the things, the world calls our lives.
Where are we in the grand scheme?
Do we just leave life to run its course?
Doomed to live according to some cosmic scheme
That provides little chance to change our course.
Take away the chains that rule your heart.
Lay them down. Let Jesus bear
The burden of their pain, change your heart.
Trust Him. He is always there.

Keeping the Law
To keep God's law, an impossible task,
He calls to righteousness like his own.
Ill equipped to perform such a task,
How can we prove we are his own?
Overcome by such a thought,
Motionless, like stone we stand
As if dead, void of thought,
Destined to remain where we stand.
Darkness surrounds us as perpetual night
Any hope we had, has long since gone.
Our hearts seem cold like a winter night
Any warmth in our soul, completely gone.
Yearning for help with how to live
Searching every corner of the world
Finding only our inability to live
By any standard of rightness in the world.
What has been lost seems we cannot find.
Eludes us as we walk thru life.
Longing for that elusive peace of mind
Can it ever be found in this life?
Is this where you stand,
The cloud you live under,
Life so dark you can barely see your hand?
Come see a new sign to live under!
A place where darkness is overcome by light.
Transformation takes place in your heart.
This light drives away the perpetual night.
Stand with me and renew your heart.
Beneath the cross
Power to change from sacrifice
This place, this lonely cross
Our savior died eternal sacrifice.
Here God defined glory
His son gave his life for all.
Joining the Father in eternal glory
So that we could be rescued from the fall.

My Life by Theirs
Many cause my appearance to pale
It fades into the shadows of evening.
My life by theirs seems stale.
All see God as we head to evening.
Their life burns brightly before us
Leaving an unforgettable image
We cannot remove from our sight.
It drives us to our knees to shame us.
Indelible, a lasting image
Burns in our hearts through the lonely night.
Folding to our knees, He stands before us.
The day seared forever, a lasting image.
He carries us through the long fight.
All children of dust
Holding out His hand, giving life
His arms around us, tears melting the dust
We give Him forever, all we have, this life.

Strength to Stand
So little strength to withstand my condition
On my own, I am powerless.
Born with this human condition
Created to become not more but less.
Such a frail companion, my guide
Ever present constantly disloyal
The truth he purposely tries to hide
Claiming always to be truly loyal.
To strive in such a fallen state
Leaves one void, empty of life.
You cannot just walk on trust in fate.
Think that this is all there is to life.
What darkness, despair must cover your soul.
No one to understand, misery your only friend.
From unseen places pines a lonely soul
Where is wisdom, will it find a friend?
How can I receive salvation from such pain?
Grab hold of even a glimmer of hope
Who can remove such an ugly stain?
Offer a lasting hope.
There is one sweet healing brings
In Him, you will find rest
Of Him, every angel sings
In His presence is hope and rest.
Nothing left, now I wait?
Is it not here I place my trust?
Upon whom do I wait?
He is the same upon whom I trust.
And so I watch for the signal light
Struggle mightily in my soul
Knowing all along, I will see the light
Gives peace to my waiting soul.

The Gift
I have seen the gift
Waiting for it to be mine
Reach out and touch the gift
In your time, it will be mine.
Always comes around, do I trust?
You have promised, I complete my part
Gain your faith your trust
Faithfully I follow from the start.
Your love for me is great
Exceeds all earthly measure
Why do I receive something so great?
How can I return love in equal measure?
I dream of the day
In the fullness of your time
Stepping forth along that glimmering way
You set at the beginning of time.
My focus remains on the goal I see
Guided safely by its light
All the world will know, will see
It was all about the light.
Lead me safely until I receive the gift
And you have made it mine.
Then all will know you are the gift,
All you have for me is mine.

Wandering Dreamer
A wandering dreamer walks the land in silence
Not turning to the right or left
Circling endlessly no destination in sight
Fading away as the shadow turns to night.
Caught in this endless spiral in the safety of silence
Protected from feeling, is there any left?
This wanderer presses on, seeing without sight.
Fear accompanies every step, turning day to night.
One day the dreamer comes across a Man
Who appears to be different from the rest
Of all those the dreamer had met.
Stopping he listened to what He had to say
His words were different, for every man.
He said, in Him one could find rest.
In Him, no need will go unmet.
All one had to do was turn and follow His way.
The wandering dreamer folded to his knees in silence,
Did not care what happened to his right or left,
Wept openly as this Man restored his sight
No longer would he wander in the darkness of night.
Touched by a savior speaking to him in silence,
Never again did the dreamer waiver to the right or left.
Eyes open now he saw the world in a different light.
One by His power will drive away even the darkest night.

Overwhelming Grace
Your grace is overwhelming as it washes
Over me, cleansing away ugly stains
It cleans more than the surface as it washes
Dramatically flushing away all my inside stains.
I've been knocked down flat on my face,
Turned upside down, will I ever rise?
No chance for me to quicken the pace
I wait for my demise.
Days went by slowly, I regained my sense,
Began to cling to a slim thread of hope.
Pushed ahead resistance was dense
I could see the light that was my hope.
Living life does not always seem fair
So much to it, it's easy to lose our way
We stand alone and stare
Too many options, how can we find the way?
Created with just one purpose in mind
Trying to hide from it, lost is all you will know.
Yer right before you, so easy to find
Let your heart go your spirit will know.
Your grace is precious it sustains, renews
As I walk, Love marks my path.
Its power is great, my heart renews
As we walk together along your path.

Shadow of Mystery
Long ago, a shadow covered the land
Causing many things to remain a mystery
Keeping us unsure of our relation to God
Certainly, we knew that He watched over the land.
We never saw him adding to the mystery.
Living lives in unexplainable fear of God.
A day came when the veil, the shadow, lifted.
We witnessed the power, the glory that could transform
Even the vilest offender into a child of God.
A process began by an unseen Spirit, each life sifted
Until all that remained in this frail human form
Was the likeness of an eternal child of God.
As human history has proven again
We take what looks like weakness, push it to the side
Until there is no life of peace or knowledge of God.
Losing our way, a shadow covers us again,
Forgetting on whose land we reside.
Without remorse, many have forgotten God.
Despite the chaos how do we restore peace?
Bring back life, drive the shadow away,
Send our world to its knees before the living God.
Confess, repent through the Prince of Peace.
Give him the burden, he will drive the darkness away.
Begin to live in the Light of the true God.

What AM I To Do?
What am I to do?
Lately you seem so far away.
Life swirls around me
Lost on a sea of emptiness
What am I to do?
Will it always be this way?
Wandering forever, is this me?
Watching hopelessly in the land of emptiness
What am I to do?
How do I get back, find my way?
Help me. May your grace free me.
Heal my spirit, fill the emptiness.
What am I to do?
Overcome by fear, stay on God's way,
Towards it I walk, give me eyes to see.
Together, Lord, we walk out of this emptiness.
What am I to do?
Overcome my fear, stay on God's way,
Often thanking Him for the grace that saved me,
Overthrowing with praise any lingering emptiness
What am I to do?
Praise God along the way
Put Him first instead of me
Please Him, there will be no more emptiness.

What Am I Without You?
What am I without you, O Lord?
Nothing, nothing, indeed!
You have made me for this very time.
Only as a vapor dispatched by the wind
Your choice for me was this time.
I am a wisp of smoke consumed by the wind.
Where would I be without you, O Lord?
Lost, lost without hope!
You pursued me until the appointed time.
All I had to do was turn to find
You had been there all the time.
You Lord, you were all I needed to find.
Who would I be without you, O Lord?
No one, no one at all!
Your design for me is for now, this time.
My soul seems as light as the wind.
This is your plan for this day and time.
My spirit carried by your wind.
When will you come and rescue me, O Lord?
Come now, come quickly!
You have set me at this place, this time.
In this place, I live by your holy wind.
Your will shall find its course, its time.
This is your moment come riding on the wind.
